Does DocAnonymizer upload my documents anywhere?
No. Detection and anonymization run entirely on your device. Nothing about a document's contents is sent anywhere as part of anonymizing it.
How does reversing an anonymized document work?
Each anonymized document's pseudonym mapping is stored locally, encrypted, tied to your Windows account. Reversing it back to the original text happens entirely on your device — the real content is never sent anywhere to be restored.
What gets detected?
Names, places, organizations, dollar amounts, percentages, dates, phone numbers, email addresses, and Social Security numbers. You can choose which categories actually get replaced before committing to a run.
How does the Claude Desktop integration work?
DocAnonymizer installs as an MCP connector. You can ask Claude to anonymize a local file, work with the anonymized version in your conversation, and reverse it back to the original afterward — the real content of the file is never sent to Claude, only the already-anonymized text.
How many devices can I use my subscription on?
Individual plans allow 2 activated devices, Professional allows 5. Team plans set a device limit per seat. You can deactivate a device to free up a slot for a new one from your account page.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
DocAnonymizer keeps working until the end of the billing period you already paid for. It doesn't require a constant internet connection to keep validating your license day to day.
Is DocAnonymizer available for Mac?
DocAnonymizer is currently available for Windows only.
